The STX-3 incorporates Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC) over a 10–30°C range, with measurements compensated to 20°C. Its high-quality optical glass prism, all-metal prism housing and large high-contrast scale are designed to provide clear and reliable readings. A rubber grip helps reduce heat transfer from the user's hand, while the non-roll design improves stability when the instrument is placed on a laboratory bench or other flat surface.
