The SIMRAD S2009 Echosounder is a professional marine sonar and fish-finding system designed to provide detailed underwater information for commercial fishing, coastal operations, workboats, scientific research and recreational/sport fishing vessels. The S2009 combines an integrated single-channel Broadband Sounder™ with CHIRP technology and a high-brightness 9-inch portrait display. The portrait screen provides substantial vertical viewing area, making it easier to examine the water column, seabed and individual sonar targets. CHIRP technology uses frequency-swept sonar pulses to provide improved target separation, resolution and image clarity compared with conventional single-frequency sonar. The S2009 can also operate with compatible conventional single-frequency transducers, making it useful when upgrading an existing vessel's sonar installation. The unit has a straightforward physical interface incorporating eight direct-access menu keys, keypad and rotary control, allowing reliable operation in marine environments where touchscreen-only operation may be inconvenient.
