The siphon tube incorporates a bulb near its upper section to promote efficient siphoning, while the surrounding vapour tube helps protect it against accidental damage. The extractor is equipped with a 55/50 standard taper outer joint at the top and a 24/40 standard taper inner joint at the bottom, allowing connection to compatible condensers and boiling flasks. It supports the use of extraction thimbles, filter paper, or glass wool for holding solid samples during the extraction process.
