Paraffin Wax Slab 5kg is a bulk solid paraffin wax supplied in slab/block form for appropriate histology, pathology and laboratory applications, provided the supplied grade is specified for tissue processing. In histology, suitable paraffin wax is used during tissue infiltration and embedding. After fixation, dehydration and clearing, processed tissue is infiltrated with molten paraffin and embedded in wax. On cooling, the wax forms a solid block that provides structural support for cutting thin tissue sections with a microtome.
