Mindray N-terminal Peptide of Procollagen Type III (PIIINP) CLIA Reagent Kit is a chemiluminescence immunoassay designed for the quantitative determination of N-terminal Peptide of Procollagen Type III in human serum using compatible Mindray CL-series analyzers. The assay is intended to aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of liver fibrosis and cirrhosis. It is not intended to independently classify the stage of liver fibrosis. PIIINP is released during the synthesis and processing of type III collagen. Because type III collagen turnover increases during fibrotic processes, circulating PIIINP can serve as a useful serum biomarker of extracellular-matrix remodeling and hepatic fibrosis when interpreted alongside other clinical and laboratory findings.
