Mindray positions hGH together with IGF-1 as important laboratory markers for investigating disorders of growth hormone secretion. Human growth hormone is secreted by the anterior pituitary and plays an important role in growth, metabolism and tissue development. Abnormal secretion may be associated with growth hormone deficiency, short stature, gigantism or acromegaly. Because GH secretion is pulsatile, individual results should be interpreted together with clinical findings and, where appropriate, IGF-1 testing and stimulation or suppression tests.
