Mindray Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulfate (DHEA-S) CLIA Reagent Kit is an in vitro diagnostic chemiluminescence immunoassay designed for the quantitative determination of Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulfate in human serum or plasma using compatible Mindray CL-series analyzers. Mindray officially includes DHEA-S within its adrenal-function CLIA assay menu. DHEA-S is a steroid hormone produced predominantly by the adrenal glands. Because circulating DHEA-S concentrations are relatively high and show less diurnal variation than many other androgens, it is commonly used as a laboratory marker of adrenal androgen production. The assay can assist in evaluating patients with hyperandrogenism, adrenal disorders, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, adrenal tumors and other conditions associated with abnormal androgen production.
