CEA is a tumor-associated marker commonly used as an aid in clinical evaluation and monitoring, particularly in patients with colorectal and other gastrointestinal malignancies. CEA results should be interpreted together with clinical findings, imaging, histopathology and other investigations rather than used alone to diagnose cancer.
