Mindray Calcitonin (CT) CLIA Reagent Kit is an in vitro diagnostic chemiluminescence immunoassay designed for the quantitative determination of Calcitonin in human serum or plasma using compatible Mindray CL-series automated immunoassay analyzers. The assay is intended as an aid in the diagnosis and management of diseases involving the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Calcitonin is a 32-amino-acid peptide hormone secreted primarily by the parafollicular C cells of the thyroid gland. Measurement of serum calcitonin is particularly useful in the assessment and monitoring of medullary thyroid carcinoma and may also contribute to evaluation of disorders affecting calcium and parathyroid physiology.
