Mindray B-type Natriuretic Peptide (BNP) CLIA Reagent Kit is an in vitro diagnostic chemiluminescence immunoassay designed for the quantitative determination of BNP in human EDTA plasma using compatible Mindray CL-series automatic chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzers. The assay is intended as an aid in the diagnosis and assessment of the severity of heart failure. BNP is a cardiac hormone released mainly from the ventricles in response to increased myocardial wall stress, pressure and volume overload. Elevated BNP concentrations can therefore provide useful laboratory information in the assessment of heart failure and left ventricular dysfunction.
