Mindray Aldosterone (ALD) CLIA Reagent Kit is a quantitative chemiluminescence immunoassay developed for measuring aldosterone in human serum using compatible Mindray CL-series automatic chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzers. Mindray includes Aldosterone in its hypertension CLIA panel together with Renin. Aldosterone is a mineralocorticoid hormone produced by the adrenal cortex and plays an important role in sodium retention, potassium balance, extracellular fluid volume and blood-pressure regulation. Measurement of aldosterone, particularly together with renin and calculation of the aldosterone-to-renin ratio, is widely used in the evaluation of primary aldosteronism and secondary causes of hypertension. Mindray states that its newer Aldosterone CLIA assay uses a single-site sandwich detection approach designed to improve analytical performance for this small-molecule hormone compared with conventional competitive assay designs.
