The Medtronic Endo GIA™ Ultra Universal XL Stapler (EGIAUXL) is an extra-long, single-use laparoscopic surgical stapler designed for tissue stapling and division during appropriate endoscopic surgical procedures. The XL version features a 26 cm shaft, providing additional reach compared with the 6 cm Short and 16 cm Standard versions. Medtronic identifies EGIAUXL as the 12 mm Ultra Universal XL single-use instrument. The Endo GIA Ultra Universal platform combines an ergonomic handle, precise articulation and a one-handed grasping mechanism. When used with a compatible preloaded reload, the instrument can be placed in grasp mode to atraumatically grasp and position tissue before firing.
