MAST Wilkins Chalgren Agar is a dehydrated microbiological culture medium developed for the isolation, cultivation and antimicrobial susceptibility testing of anaerobic microorganisms. It is formulated to support the growth of many clinically significant anaerobes without routinely requiring blood supplementation. Mast The medium contains casein and gelatin peptones, yeast extract, glucose, L-arginine, sodium pyruvate, haemin and menadione to provide nutrients and growth factors required by anaerobic bacteria.
