MAST Thioglycollate Broth USP is a dehydrated culture medium formulated for sterility testing in accordance with the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP). It supports the non-selective enrichment and growth of both aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms and is widely applicable in pharmaceutical and microbiology laboratories. Thioglycollate lowers the oxidation-reduction potential of the medium, creating conditions suitable for anaerobic organisms while still supporting aerobic growth. Resazurin serves as an oxidation indicator, while a small amount of agar helps reduce oxygen diffusion through the medium.
