MAST Simmons Citrate Agar – 500g

MAST Simmons Citrate Agar 500g is a dehydrated differential culture medium used to determine whether an organism can utilize citrate as its sole carbon source. It is commonly used in the biochemical identification and differentiation of members of the Enterobacteriaceae/Enterobacterales group. Organisms capable of citrate utilisation grow on the medium and typically produce an alkaline reaction, causing the bromothymol blue indicator to change from green toward blue.
