MAST Mueller Hinton Agar – 500g

MAST Mueller Hinton Agar 500g is a standardized dehydrated microbiological culture medium primarily used for antimicrobial susceptibility testing of bacteria. It is widely used for disc diffusion antibiotic susceptibility testing because its formulation supports reliable antimicrobial diffusion and clear inhibition-zone development. MAST states that the medium has low levels of sulphonamide and tetracycline antagonists, helping produce clear zones with these antimicrobial agents. With the addition of 5% defibrinated blood, it can also support the growth of many fastidious organisms.
