MAST MacConkey Agar No.3 – 500g

MAST MacConkey Agar No.3 500g is a selective and differential culture medium used for the detection and isolation of Salmonella and Shigella species and for differentiating lactose-fermenting from non-lactose-fermenting enteric organisms. The formulation contains crystal violet and selected bile salts that inhibit Gram-positive bacteria. Lactose-fermenting coliforms generally produce red colonies, while non-lactose-fermenting organisms typically appear colourless or pale translucent.
