MAST D.C.A. (Hynes) DM130D – 500 g

MAST D.C.A. (Hynes) is a Deoxycholate Citrate Agar selective medium designed for the isolation and identification of enteric pathogens, particularly Salmonella spp. and Shigella spp. It is based on the Hynes modification of Leifson’s medium and uses purified sodium deoxycholate together with sodium citrate to suppress many coliform organisms. Mast The medium also contains lactose to help differentiate lactose-fermenting organisms, while its formulation helps prevent swarming of Proteus species.
