Lithium Heparin Blood Collection Tube

The Lithium Heparin Blood Collection Tube, commonly called a Lithium Bottle or Green Cap Tube, is a blood specimen container containing lithium heparin anticoagulant. It is designed for the collection of blood samples where plasma is required for clinical chemistry and related laboratory testing. Lithium heparin works by enhancing antithrombin activity and preventing blood coagulation, allowing plasma to be separated rapidly after centrifugation. It is especially useful for routine chemistry, electrolyte and urgent plasma testing because lithium heparin does not introduce sodium into the specimen.
