The Leica HistoCore MULTICUT is a precision semi-automated rotary microtome designed for sectioning paraffin-embedded tissue specimens in histology and pathology laboratories. It combines the tactile control and speed of manual microtomy with motorized specimen feeding, helping laboratories achieve consistent and reproducible tissue sections while reducing repetitive coarse-feed movements. Leica incorporates Fast Homing and Memory Position, enabling the instrument to remember an optimal specimen position and support faster trimming workflows. The MULTICUT provides a broad 0.5–100 µm section thickness range and a separate 1–600 µm trimming range. Its precision micrometer feed uses a step motor, while horizontal feed and vertical stroke mechanisms are based on cross-roller bearings.
