Leica HistoCore BIOCUT Manual Rotary Microtome

The Leica HistoCore BIOCUT is a precision manual rotary microtome designed for routine sectioning of paraffin-embedded tissue specimens in histology and pathology laboratories. It provides a configurable section thickness range from 1 to 60 µm, allowing technicians to select thickness according to specimen and laboratory requirements. The instrument is fully mechanical, so routine sectioning does not depend on a motorized cutting mechanism or electrical supply. A major ergonomic feature is Leica's Personalized Coarse Feed Wheel, which allows the operator to select either clockwise or counter-clockwise operation. The 2-in-1 blade holder accommodates both high- and low-profile disposable blades without requiring a change of blade holder. The BIOCUT also incorporates an antistatic section-waste tray, designed to reduce adhesion of paraffin debris and simplify cleaning after sectioning. Leica additionally provides precision specimen orientation, force balancing and silent specimen retraction.
