Leica HistoCore Arcadia H+C Tissue Embedding System

The Leica HistoCore Arcadia H+C Tissue Embedding System is a modular histology workstation designed for embedding processed tissue specimens in paraffin before microtome sectioning. The system combines the HistoCore Arcadia H heated paraffin embedding station with the HistoCore Arcadia C cold plate, providing the heating, paraffin dispensing, specimen orientation and block-cooling functions required during routine histopathology embedding. The Arcadia H melts and maintains paraffin at the required temperature, dispenses molten paraffin into embedding molds and maintains the temperature of cassettes, molds and forceps. Its symmetrical workspace provides convenient access to cassettes and molds, while a bright white LED and magnifier help improve visibility when working with small or complex specimens. The Arcadia C provides a large refrigerated working surface capable of holding up to 65 cassettes. Leica specifies a stabilized operating temperature of −6°C, supporting rapid solidification of paraffin blocks after embedding.
