The SMARTM NS1 980 nm (10W) Diode Laser is a compact medical laser system designed primarily for neurosurgical Percutaneous Laser Disc Decompression (PLDD). The system uses a 980 nm diode laser source with output power of up to 10 W. According to LASOTRONIX, the wavelength interacts with both water and haemoglobin, supporting tissue vaporization, ablation and coagulation with controlled penetration during PLDD procedures. The SMARTM NS1 incorporates a colour touchscreen interface and supports optical fibres in 320 μm, 400 μm and 600 μm diameters.
