The system incorporates a microcomputer-controlled linear peristaltic pump and multiple sensors to monitor infusion operation. Healthcare professionals can program the required infusion volume and flow rate according to the prescribed therapy. After the programmed infusion volume is completed, the pump supports KVO (Keep Vein Open) operation. Documented safety monitoring includes audible and visual alarms for conditions including occlusion, air bubbles, open door, infusion completion and low voltage.
