The Hawksley HAEMATOSPIN 1400 Micro Haematocrit Centrifuge is a high-speed laboratory centrifuge designed primarily for rapid and reliable determination of haematocrit or packed cell volume from capillary blood samples. The unit combines a high-speed drive with a robust die-cast aluminium body, automatic braking and simple manual controls. With the standard 24-place micro-haematocrit rotor, the current Hawksley specification provides speeds of up to 12,000 rpm and a relative centrifugal force of up to 14,000 × g. Its interchangeable rotor system also allows the centrifuge to accommodate selected microtubes for microchemistry applications, making the HAEMATOSPIN 1400 more versatile than a dedicated single-purpose haematocrit centrifuge.
