EDAN i15 Blood Gas and Chemistry Analyzer

The EDAN i15 Blood Gas and Chemistry Analyzer is a compact portable point-of-care diagnostic system designed to provide rapid blood gas, electrolyte and metabolite results for critical-care environments. Using single-use disposable test cartridges, the i15 can directly measure parameters including pH, pCO₂, pO₂, sodium (Na⁺), potassium (K⁺), ionized calcium (Ca²⁺), chloride (Cl⁻), glucose (Glu), lactate (Lac) and hematocrit (Hct) depending on the cartridge configuration. Numerous additional clinical values are automatically calculated from the measured results. The analyzer requires only 140 µL of whole blood and produces results in approximately one minute after sample aspiration. Its automatic sampling system reduces manual handling, while single-use cartridges integrate the sensors and fluid path, helping simplify workflow and minimize cross-contamination risks. Designed for point-of-care use, the i15 weighs approximately 3.65 kg and incorporates a rechargeable lithium-ion battery capable of supporting approximately 50 continuous tests when fully charged. This makes it suitable for ICUs, emergency departments, operating theatres and other locations where rapid results close to the patient are important.
