ORTHOBOND by Dentex is a professional light-cure orthodontic bonding adhesive system developed for attaching orthodontic brackets and accessories to prepared tooth surfaces. The system consists primarily of ORTHOBOND Paste and ORTHOBOND Primer. According to Dentex, the paste is suitable for bonding ceramic, metal and invisible orthodontic accessories, while the primer is designed to facilitate bonding of the ORTHOBOND paste to the tooth. ORTHOBOND has a controlled viscosity designed to help minimize unwanted bracket movement during positioning. This allows the orthodontist to position the bracket before activating the adhesive with an appropriate dental curing light. A green color-changing version is also available. Dentex states that this formulation uses temperature-related color change to improve visibility and make excess adhesive easier to identify and clean.
