The David BM-200A / BM-200C Transcutaneous Jaundice Detector is designed for non-invasive screening of neonatal jaundice by obtaining transcutaneous bilirubin measurements without requiring routine blood sampling for each screening measurement.
The BM-200 series incorporates David Medical's dual optical path intelligence, using dual optical paths and dual wavelengths to help reduce the influence of skin melanin and dermal thickness on bilirubin measurements. This makes the device suitable for rapid bilirubin screening across diverse neonatal populations.
The detector has a 3.0-inch colour LCD touchscreen and allows the operator to configure averaging across 1 to 5 measurements. Its xenon flash lamp is rated for at least 150,000 measurements, supporting extended clinical use.
A simplified operating mode allows measurements without entering patient information, which can be useful in outpatient or high-throughput screening environments. The charging/examination base uses a spring-supported examination screen that adapts its angle as the probe moves.
