BIOBASE Class II A2 Biological Safety Cabinet

The BIOBASE Class II A2 Biological Safety Cabinet is a laboratory containment and air-purification system designed to provide protection for the operator, samples and laboratory environment during microbiological and other appropriate biological procedures. BIOBASE describes its Class II A2 cabinets as negative-pressure air-purification safety devices intended to help prevent the escape of aerosols containing potentially hazardous or unknown biological particles. Applications include microbiology, clinical testing, biological-product work, teaching and research. The BSC-1100IIA2-X uses a controlled airflow system with approximately 70% air recirculation and 30% exhaust. The current manufacturer's AC-series specification uses two ULPA filters rated at 99.9995% efficiency at 0.12 μm, together with controlled inflow and vertical downflow. The cabinet also incorporates a motorized front window, stainless-steel work zone, microprocessor control, LCD monitoring, UV lamp, LED illumination and visual/audible safety alarms.
