Beam Balance Mechanical Laboratory Weighing Balance

The Beam Balance is a mechanical laboratory weighing instrument designed to determine the mass of samples and objects without requiring electricity or batteries. A typical laboratory beam balance uses one or more graduated beams fitted with sliding masses (riders). The sample is placed on the weighing pan, and the riders are moved along the calibrated beams until the balance reaches equilibrium. The mass is then determined by adding the values indicated by the rider positions.
