Abbott CheckNOW HIV Self Test Kit

The Abbott CheckNOW™ HIV Self Test is a blood-based rapid HIV self-testing kit designed to allow individuals to privately screen for antibodies to HIV-1 and HIV-2 using a simple finger-prick blood sample. The test uses third-generation HIV testing technology and provides results in approximately 15 minutes. It has been designed so that non-professional users can perform the test themselves without requiring laboratory equipment. Each kit contains the components required to perform one self-test, including the test device, buffer, specimen dropper, safety lancet, alcohol pads, plaster and instructions for use. The CheckNOW HIV Self Test is also WHO prequalified. WHO identifies it as an immunochromatographic lateral-flow HIV self-test using capillary whole blood.
