The Abbott Bioline™ Malaria Ag P.f/Pan Rapid Test is a professional rapid diagnostic test for the qualitative and differential detection of malaria antigens in human whole blood. The test detects histidine-rich protein 2 (HRP2) antigen of Plasmodium falciparum and common Plasmodium lactate dehydrogenase (pLDH) associated with Plasmodium species. This enables the test to distinguish P. falciparum infection from infections involving other malaria species. Only approximately 5 µL of whole blood is required, with results available in about 15 minutes and final interpretation within 30 minutes. It requires no complex laboratory analyser, making it suitable for professional point-of-care malaria testing.
