The 14 × 17 Inch Stationary X-Ray Anti-Scatter Grid is a radiographic imaging accessory designed to improve X-ray image contrast by reducing scattered radiation before it reaches the film or digital image receptor. Constructed with precisely arranged lead strips separated by radiolucent interspacing materials, the grid allows a greater proportion of primary X-rays to reach the image receptor while absorbing much of the scattered radiation that can reduce image clarity. Its 14 × 17-inch format is suitable for compatible general radiography systems, including applications involving chest, abdominal, pelvic and spinal imaging. The stationary design operates without a motorised moving mechanism and can be used with appropriately matched conventional X-ray cassettes, computed radiography (CR) plates or digital radiography (DR) detectors, depending on the grid configuration.
