The 10 × 8" B200 X-Ray Intensifying Screen is a radiographic imaging accessory designed for use inside a compatible 10 × 8 inch X-ray film cassette in conventional film-screen radiography. The screen contains a phosphor layer that converts incoming X-ray energy into visible light. This light exposes the compatible radiographic film positioned in close contact with the screen, improving the efficiency of image formation compared with direct X-ray exposure of film. The 10 × 8 inch format is approximately 25.4 × 20.3 cm and is commonly referred to nominally as 25 × 20 cm. Proper matching of the screen, cassette and radiographic film is important for achieving appropriate image quality.
